About Us

Washington Women's Foundation began in 1995 when 116 women pooled their financial and intellectual resources to support and strengthen our community. Today, our membership has grown to include over 500 women from a variety of life experiences and perspectives, with our annual grantmaking totaling nearly $1 million.

Mission, Vision, and Values
Our model of collective giving inspires hundreds of women to be active leaders in philanthropy.

Our History
The Foundation was established in 1995 by five visionary women and now has more than 500 members who pool their resources and skills to make large, high-impact grants.

WWF Strategic Priorities
Guided by input from our members, community leaders, nonprofit grantees and partners, the Board of Directors presents this Strategic Plan to inspire our work for the next three years.

Board of Directors
Washington Women’s Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership.

President Beth McCaw and a small professional staff manage the Foundation’s work, including educational programs and grant making initiatives.
